ABOUT WHERE’S DIXIE……

The five-piece contemporary country band Where’s Dixie was formed in the summer of 2005.  Comprised of members possessing many years of experience in various pop, rock, folk and country ensembles, the band showcases a wide range of styles and harmonies originated by such artists as Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill, Gretchen Wilson, and Sugarland. The male musicians who round out the band’s instrumental section also sing, enabling Where’s Dixie to cover the hits of many male country stars, including Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, Garth Brooks, Keith Urban and Vince Gill.

Spanning the spectrum from beautiful ballads to upbeat, hard-driving songs, the band presents a well-balanced show that appeals to a wide range of contemporary country fans.

Performing together in its current line-up, Where’s Dixie is fronted by Becky Frens. The rhythm section, with Kurt Kuhn on bass guitar and Bill Drum on percussion who also handles the majority of male lead vocals. Keyboardist / vocalist Mike Axman provides melodic textures unavailable to many country bands and rounding out Where’s Dixie is lead guitarist / vocalist Steve Wheeler, adding a strong but tasty style to Where’s Dixie.

Where’s Dixie prides itself on its friendly stage presence, tight harmonies, and strong ensemble performance, and is committed to providing its audiences with an exciting and enjoyable musical experience.
